Subchapter B General Provisions Relating to the Requirements of Licensure §535.2(i)1 Broker Responsibility: Each sponsored sales agent is advised of the scope of the sales agent’s authorized activities subject to the Act and is competent to conduct such activities.
TREECAST are live classroom courses where the instructor is at a remote location and the students are in a classroom at their individual brokerage. These live classes are broadcasted to participating brokerages and during the class, students are able to dialogue with the instructor and with other students in the class at other participating brokerages around Texas which might be participating in the class.
With TREECAST being a brokerage based broadcast classroom, Brokers of all sizes and in all locations are able to provide their licensees with high-level quality education without either the broker or the licenses having to bear travel hassles and expenses.
Some brokerages have found they do not have the space required to bring in a live instructor without TREECAST. So, is your brokerage signed up to offer TREECAST classes? If not, why isn’t it?
TREECAST classes will be offered and featured on the TexasRealEstate.Education website for your brokerage to be able to offer to your agents once you have gone through the initial sign-up process. Private TREECAST classes are also available if you are interested.
How does it work?
It’s pretty simple. Students register and attend the class at their brokerage’s location, just as if it were a normal class. In class, they are able to dialogue with the instructor and with students from other brokerages in other participating classes around Texas.
Delivery of Materials: Course materials for TREECAST are provided in a digital format & available for download from your TREE account 48 hours prior to the class. Students are welcome to print course materials or save a TREE and use a PDF annotator program to write on digital material. Quick Links: PDF Annotator for Windows or PDF Expert for Mac.
Benefits to Broadcast
Brokerages can offer continuing education courses to their agents as an agent benefit within their brokerage. Brokerages no longer have to incur the cost of travel and hotel for instructors to teach a class they need because it is at their location.
What classes are available on TREECAST?
The number of classes available on TREECAST is always changing as new classes come available. To see a complete list of TREECAST courses, click here.
How do I attend?
Make arrangements to host a live TREECAST class with one of our instructors. Your brokerage can either schedule your own individual training program or join a prescheduled training program.
How does my brokerage get started?
Brokerages can get set up to offer TREECAST exclusive classes by contacting a TexasRealEstate.Education instructor to host the course in their brokerage.
To get started initially, you need to sign a TREECAST agreement and have an equipment test before the class. The instructor will work with you to schedule and complete a test of your equipment. Below is the component list:
- Computer with a hardwired internet connection;
- A camera that captures all participants at that location;
- Microphone;
- Speakers
Many times a laptop hooked up to an external monitor or projection device can suffice as long as the camera can be directed toward the students in the class and will be clear enough for the instructor to see the students in the class.
