Find answers to commonly asked questions concerning obtaining your continuing education hours through TREECAST.
If you have a question that is not covered here, send your question to info@texasrealestate.education.
Can I see the other participants in the class?
Absolutely. Anytime someone speaks or asks a question, their camera becomes live enabling the instructor and all participants to not only hear them but also see them.
Do I get Continuing Education Credit for TREECAST classes?
Absolutely! Every class that provides TREC-CE (Texas Real Estate Commission continuing education) credit states the number of hours earned on each class offering. There is always the potential for class offering that do not provide TREC-CE credit and those would be notated on the class registration when you sign up.
If you look at your Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) record of completed education you would want to verify that the course number is not on your TREC record of continuing education to be able to earn CE credit.
Our classes are typically updated every 2 years and have different course numbers. Sometimes the course name is the same or similar to the ones in the past, however the course number will be new.
Always verify with your TREC completed education record that you have not completed the same course with the same course number before signing up for any class with any provider.
For any class you take with Texas Real Estate Education, you will see your hours appear on your license within 11 days listed under “TexasRealEstate.Education”.

The materials will either be available for download when you register for the class or will be emailed to you before the class. If you choose to print out the material before class, it will be your responsibility to do so. Is TREECAST available for private classes for my brokerage or team?
Absolutely!
In fact, Subchapter B General Provisions Relating to the Requirements of Licensure §535.2(i)1 Broker Responsibility says: Each sponsored sales agent is advised of the scope of the sales agent’s authorized activities subject to the Act and is competent to conduct such activities.
TREECAST are live classroom courses where the instructor is at a remote location and the students are in a classroom at your group or team office. These live classes are broadcasted to participating groups and teams and during the class, students are able to dialogue with the instructor and with other students in the class at other participants around Texas which might be participating in the class.
With TREECAST being a broadcast classroom, groups or teams of all sizes and in all locations are able to provide their licensees with high level quality education without either the broker or the licenses having to bear travel hassles and expenses.
Some groups and teams have found they do not have the space required to bring in a live instructor without TREECAST. So, is your group or team signed up to offer TREECAST classes? If not, why isn’t it?
Shoot us an email at info@texasrealestate.education to discuss scheduling your private classes.

CE credit may be voided due to late arrival after official start of class or when returning from lunch or breaks. No partial CE credit will be given.
For TREECAST classes all students must be visibly seen on camera and all students must be in a stationary position and not operating a motor vehicle.
Per TREC, students are required to show photo ID at class signup and when signing in for each subsequent day of class. Since this is a live broadcast, the instructor will need you to hold up your driver’s license to show your picture and name. You are welcome to cover the other confidential information such as address et cetera with your fingers.
You need to be present in class. The use of electronic devices is limited to course related activities. Turn your phone and other interrupting devices on mute, vibrate or turn off the devices altogether. Please let those around you know that you are in class to keep any and all interruptions to a minimum if at all as this is a live classroom and its success depends on the interaction of the students in class. The instructor reserves the right to TERMINATE your feed if you are not engaged and paying attention in class. If the instructor terminates your feed, you will not receive credit for this class.
What do I have to do to renew my license?
For all regular renewals, you need:
- 8-hours of TREC’s Legal Update (I & II)
- 3-hours of Contracts
- 7-hours of elective courses
To renew your license for the first time, you need:
- 90 hours of qualifying sales apprentice education (SAE) courses.
- 8-hours of TREC’s Legal Update (I & II)
What does a student need?
To participate in a live TREECAST class one needs a computer, a webcam, microphone (either built in or external) and sound on their computer. Our instructors have to see students the entire class so it is crucial that the sound and webcam on your computer works. If you do not have a webcam, you can purchase one very inexpensively on Amazon or at other retailers.
If you have a webcam but no sound, each class has a call in telephone number that you can dial in to connect in the event your sound does not work on your computer. See, we’ve thought of everything!
What forms of payment do you take?
We take all major credit cards and you also have the opportunity during the registration process to pay via PayPal if you prefer. We do not take cash or checks.
What is a TREECAST class like?
A TREECAST class is a live classroom class where all of the attendees/students are in their own respective locations but join the class with a broadcast/live-streaming service. You connect to our class and are given a front row seat to every class.
Since TREECAST classes are live classroom events, you will feel like you are in a typical classroom environment although the other participants in the class are at their own locations.
What is your refund policy?
Full refunds will be given to students who cancel up to 72 hours before all courses provided the course material(s) have NOT been downloaded. If the course material has been downloaded, no refund will be available. The material will remain in your account and available for download until after the course event. Tuition fees are non-transferrable. The class will start on time. Latecomers will forfeit their seat and TREC credit attached to the class. We reserve the right to cancel any class which does not make a minimum attendance level.
